Raiser's Edge NXT Alternatives in 2026: What It Costs, and What Breaks When You Leave
| In short. Blackbaud publishes no price for Raiser's Edge NXT. The annual figures circulating online mostly trace back to sources that either do not publish them or cannot be reached. Here is what we could actually verify, what the realistic alternatives publish about their own pricing, and the part of a migration that catches people out. |

One disclosure first: Gratefully, which publishes this guide, is not a CRM and is not an alternative to Raiser's Edge NXT. We read the CRM you already have. We are covered in a section at the end so you can weigh it separately, and you can skip it without missing anything.
If you are on eTapestry rather than Raiser's Edge, our eTapestry alternatives guide covers that product. If you are not sure which Blackbaud product you are on, start with our Blackbaud alternatives guide.

How much does Raiser's Edge NXT cost?
Nobody outside Blackbaud can tell you, and that is the honest answer.
Blackbaud does not publish a price. We loaded the Raiser's Edge NXT product page on 8 October 2026. The only two calls to action on it are "Request a Demo" and "Ask About Pricing". There is not a figure anywhere on the page.
Their pricing page is not a pricing page either. blackbaud.com/pricing is a quote request form, opening with "Let us find a price that fits your organization. Fill out the form to request a personalized quote."
Software Advice does not have a number either. Their Raiser's Edge NXT profile lists pricing as "Pricing available upon request". The product holds a 4.2 rating from 418 reviews there.
Where do the price estimates online come from?
Search for what Raiser's Edge NXT costs and you are handed annual ranges segmented by organisation size. Google's AI Overview produces exactly that, attributing it partly to Vendr.
We followed that citation on 8 October 2026. The Vendr page it points to returns a 404. Capterra's Raiser's Edge listing, still linked from several places, also returns a 404.
Vendr does publish Blackbaud pricing data, at a different address, built from anonymised contract data. Read twice on 8 October, identical both times:
| Vendr, Blackbaud contract data | |
|---|---|
| Median buyer pays | $20,417 per year |
| Low | $16,117 |
| High | $33,623 |
That is not a Raiser's Edge NXT price. Vendr state pricing "varies significantly based on the product line (Raiser's Edge NXT, Financial Edge NXT, Grantmaking, etc.)". It is a median across Blackbaud's whole catalogue and may include fund accounting or bundles. Useful as an order of magnitude for a Blackbaud relationship, not a price for a product.
We are not accusing anyone of inventing figures. We tried to check them, and this is where the trail went.
If you have been quoted a figure, treat the internet's ranges as background noise and work from your own quote.
What else is sold separately?
Worth knowing before you compare a quote against anything.
Financial Edge NXT, Blackbaud's fund accounting product, is a separate product with its own page, and it also carries "Request a Demo" and "Ask About Pricing" rather than a price. If your quote covers fundraising only, accounting is a different line item.
We have seen figures quoted for what that adds. We could not verify any of them, so we are not repeating them.
What are the realistic alternatives to Raiser's Edge NXT?
The honest split is between the vendors who publish a price and the ones who do not. All figures below were checked on the vendors' own pages.
| Product | What it publishes |
|---|---|
| Neon CRM | From $99 a month, published |
| Bloomerang | Giving Platform from $242 a month billed annually, unlimited users. CRM from $125, Volunteer $119, Fundraising $40 as part of a CRM bundle only |
| Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud | $60 per user per month billed annually on Enterprise, with 10 free licenses for eligible nonprofits through Power of Us |
| Virtuous | No published pricing. Tiers set by annual fundraising revenue, with the line drawn at $5 million |
| Bonterra | No published pricing. We loaded the pricing page on 25 August 2026 and there was not a dollar figure on it |
Two cautions on that table.
Unlimited users is not a detail. Seat counts are where enterprise CRM bills grow quietly, so a plan that does not count them is a different shape of cost, not just a different number.
With Salesforce, the licence is rarely the real cost. Implementation is, and it is not on the pricing page. We cover what connects and what does not on our Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud integration page.
What breaks when you leave Raiser's Edge NXT?
Raiser's Edge is usually the hardest Blackbaud product to leave, because it tends to be holding many years of gift history and a stack of integrations built around it.
The single most expensive surprise is not the data. It is your recurring gifts. A recurring gift is not really a row in your CRM, it is an authorization held by your payment processor against a stored card token, and your CRM shows you a reflection of it. Move the CRM and the reflection moves. The authorization does not.
That is involved enough to have its own guide, and we have written it up in detail in our donor data migration guide rather than summarising it badly here. Read that before you agree a switchover date.
Two questions worth answering early, because both have a queue in front of them: who holds the payment processor account, and whether there is any charge for transferring it. Both depend on your contract, so get the answers from your own vendor rather than from an article.
When should you not switch?
Most of the writing on this subject assumes leaving is the answer, because most of it is published by people selling the alternative. We publish software too, so weigh this accordingly, but the honest cases for staying are real.
If the problem is reporting rather than the database. Reporting and retrieval problems are usually separate from the system of record, and an intelligence layer that reads your existing CRM will answer most of them without moving anything. Migrating to fix reporting is an expensive way to solve the wrong problem.
If nobody owns the migration. A Raiser's Edge migration is not a side project. If there is no named person with real time for it, a half-finished migration is worse than the system you have.
If you are mid-campaign. Moving a system of record during a campaign puts the campaign at risk to solve a problem that will still be there in six months.
Migrate when the system genuinely cannot hold what you need, or when the vendor is retiring it. Those are good reasons. Frustration on its own usually is not.
Where Gratefully fits, and where it does not
Short, because this is not what the page is for.
Gratefully is not a CRM and is not an alternative to Raiser's Edge NXT. It reads the donor records you already keep and tells your team who to contact and why, with the source cited on every answer.
We do not currently have a direct connector to Raiser's Edge NXT. Our direct connections are Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and NPSP, Bloomerang, Little Green Light and Mailchimp. Raiser's Edge data comes in by CSV export, which works, but it is an import rather than a live sync and you should know that before assuming otherwise.
We also do not do wealth screening, capacity ratings, prospect research or grant writing.
There is a free plan at $0 for one person with no record limit, and paid plans start at $79 a month billed annually. Full detail is on our pricing page.
About these figures
Everything on this page was checked on 8 October 2026 at the source named beside it, and the Vendr figures were confirmed on a second read.
Prices change, and vendors who publish today may stop. If you are reading this months later, check the vendor's own page before relying on a number here. If you find something out of date, we would rather know.
Before you ask for a quote
Work out two things first: who holds your payment processor account, and whether your problem is the database or the reporting on top of it. Both change what you should be shopping for.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Raiser's Edge NXT cost?
Blackbaud does not publish a price. Its product page offers only "Request a Demo" and "Ask About Pricing", and its pricing page is a quote request form. Software Advice lists it as "Pricing available upon request". Any specific figure you see online comes from a third party rather than from Blackbaud.
Is there a public price list for Blackbaud products?
No. We checked on 8 October 2026 and Blackbaud publishes no figure for Raiser's Edge NXT or Financial Edge NXT. Both product pages carry "Ask About Pricing" instead.
What do nonprofits actually pay for Blackbaud?
Vendr, which builds estimates from anonymised contract data, reports a median of $20,417 a year with a range of $16,117 to $33,623. Treat that carefully: Vendr state it covers Blackbaud's whole product line, not Raiser's Edge NXT specifically, so it may include fund accounting or grantmaking.
Are the Raiser's Edge NXT price ranges published online accurate?
We could not verify them. The segmented annual ranges that circulate, including in Google's AI Overview, are attributed partly to a Vendr page that returns a 404, and Capterra's Raiser's Edge listing also 404s. Treat any specific figure as unverified unless it is in a quote addressed to you.
Is Financial Edge NXT included with Raiser's Edge NXT?
They are separate products with separate pages, and neither publishes a price. If your quote covers fundraising, check whether accounting is in it.
What is the hardest part of leaving Raiser's Edge?
Usually the recurring gifts. A recurring gift is an authorization held by your payment processor against a stored card token rather than a record in your CRM, so it does not move when your donor records do. Find out who holds the processor account before you set a date.
Do I have to leave Raiser's Edge to get better reporting?
Often not. Reporting problems are usually separate from the system of record, and a layer that reads your existing CRM can answer most of them without a migration. Migrate when the system cannot hold what you need or the vendor is retiring it.
Does Gratefully replace Raiser's Edge NXT?
No. Gratefully is not a CRM. It reads the records you already keep. There is no direct Raiser's Edge connector today, so data comes in by CSV export rather than live sync.
