Two of them, Little Green Light and Keela, publish a full price table. Before you switch, check how recurring gifts and pledges will move, because that is the part most likely to break.
Blackbaud eTapestry is built for small fundraising teams, so the alternatives worth considering are the ones built for organizations of the same size, rather than enterprise systems designed for much larger teams. This guide covers what eTapestry costs as far as anyone can tell, why teams start looking elsewhere, what each realistic alternative publishes about its price, and the part of a switch that catches people out. One disclosure first: Gratefully, which publishes this guide, is not a CRM and is not one of the alternatives. It is covered in its own section at the end, so you can weigh it separately. ## What eTapestry is, and what it costs Blackbaud describes eTapestry as fundraising software for smaller teams. It covers constituent profiles, online donation forms, email tools, dashboards, event tracking and peer-to-peer fundraising. Blackbaud does not publish a price for it. The eTapestry product page offers "Ask About Pricing" and "Request a Demo", and the pricing link leads to a quote request rather than a figure. Software directories fill the gap: [Software Advice lists eTapestry](https://www.softwareadvice.com/nonprofit/etapestry-profile/alternatives/) as starting at $99 a month. The missing price matters most at renewal. Without a published rate, you have nothing to benchmark a renewal quote against, which makes comparing published alternatives worthwhile even if you stay. ## Why teams look at alternatives Reviews give a fair picture of where eTapestry is strong and where it is not. On Software Advice, eTapestry scores 3.8 out of 5 from 208 reviews. Its sub-scores are customer support 3.94, functionality 3.70, value for money 3.53 and ease of use 3.44. Ease of use and value for money are its lowest marks. On the same page, Software Advice lists Neon CRM at 4.3 from 620 reviews and DonorPerfect at 4.5 from 1,480 reviews. Blackbaud has not announced an end date for eTapestry. If you are looking because you have heard it is being retired, check that first: the product is still sold and still listed on Blackbaud's site. ## The alternatives, and what they publish Prices below were checked on each vendor's own pricing page on 18 September 2026. Two of these, Little Green Light and Keela, publish a full price table. Bloomerang and Givebutter publish starting prices. DonorPerfect, like Blackbaud, prices by quote. The fastest way to narrow the list is by the size of your file. Little Green Light and Keela price by record or contact count, so you can work out your exact cost today. Givebutter's free core platform makes it the lowest-cost place to start if most of your work is collecting gifts rather than managing relationships. Salesforce is priced per user and built to be configured, which suits teams planning to grow. ## What moves cleanly when you leave, and what does not Most of your data leaves eTapestry without trouble. [Blackbaud's own help documentation](https://webfiles-sc1.blackbaud.com/files/support/helpfiles/etapestry/etapestry/content/etapexports.html) says you can export any standard or custom report, in formats such as Excel or CSV. Constituent and gift records come out that way. Recurring gifts are different. A recurring gift is not only a row in your database. It is an authorization held by your payment processor against a stored card or bank account, and those payment details sit with the processor rather than in your donor records. [Blackbaud's payments FAQ](https://www.blackbaud.com/info/bbip/nonprofit-credit-card-processing-faqs) does not cover moving them to another processor, so ask Blackbaud directly, before you set a switch date, how your sustainers will move. The new system has limits too. [Bloomerang's import documentation](https://help.bloomerang.com/en/articles/12632800-imports-set-up-import-files) is a clear example. It states that you "cannot currently create or update pledges, pledge payments, recurring donations, tasks, or refunds using an import", and that these must be entered manually. Households cannot be created by import either. Other CRMs publish their own lists, and it is worth reading the one for your shortlist before you sign. Put together: your donor history moves easily, but active recurring gifts and open pledges can need rebuilding by hand, and a donor whose monthly gift quietly stops during a migration may not notice. Export a full report of constituents, gifts, pledges and notes from eTapestry, and open it before you sign anything new. 2. List every active recurring gift and open pledge, with its next payment date. 3. Ask Blackbaud how stored payment details move to a new processor, and check your contract for renewal dates and notice periods. 4. Read your new vendor's import documentation for what cannot be imported. 5. Plan how recurring gifts will be re-created, and who will contact sustainers if a payment fails in the first months after the move. 6. Run both systems side by side for at least one gift cycle before you close eTapestry. ## When not to switch A migration is a large project for a small team. It is worth being sure the database is actually the problem. If the real complaint is that reports are hard to build or that nobody has time to find the donors who need attention, a new CRM may not fix it. The same work will be waiting in the new system. If the complaint is price, get your renewal quote in writing first and compare it with the published prices above. A clear alternative is useful leverage even if you stay. And if you are in the middle of a campaign or a year-end appeal, wait. Switching systems while gifts are arriving raises the risk of losing track of them. ## Where Gratefully fits, and where it does not Gratefully is an AI donor intelligence platform.
